CALL FOR ARTISTS:

2nd Annual Art Alive Plein Air
May 31-June 2nd 2024

Creative Hub of Apopka proudly presents the 2nd Annual Apopka Art Alive Plein Air, an open-air painting competition that invites artists to capture the vibrant essence of our community. Celebrating the tradition of painting directly from nature, known as “plein air” in French, this event offers a unique opportunity to showcase Apopka’s picturesque locales.

An open-air painting competition is an event where artists create their artworks outdoors, directly from observation of nature or urban landscapes. It’s like plein air painting, emphasizing the practice of working in natural light and capturing scenes as they appear in the environment. The term “open air” signifies the outdoor setting in which the artworks are created.
